INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON ADVANCES IN AGRICULTURE AND ALLIED SCIENCES: CHALLENGES AND SOLUTIONS (AAAS:CS)
The Confederation of NGOs of Rural India (CNRI) is an apex body of non-governmental organizations established by the Union Government in 2005 to strengthen, coordinate, and facilitate grassroots development in rural India. Evolving as a people’s movement, CNRI works towards an inclusive society, ensuring no discrimination based on socioeconomic factors. It supports member NGOs and SHGs nationwide in serving disadvantaged communities and advocates for their role in nation-building alongside the government. CNRI has actively addressed key rural issues, including farmer loan burdens, FDI in retail, land acquisition disputes, and employment schemes. It has facilitated the implementation of various national initiatives, such as micro-insurance schemes, legal literacy programs, IGNOU study centers, and job-linked skill development centers. Additionally, CNRI has been instrumental in promoting government schemes related to rural development, health, education, climate change, and social welfare through seminars, workshops, and awareness campaigns.
