Membership requirements and benefits
Membership to Himalayan Association for Sustainable Development (HASD) is open to anyone and everyone who are engaged in conservation activities for the upliftment of the mankind especially in conservation of Biological and Natural Resources through Scientific Approaches. Members of the society are able to participate in the activities or receive the services of the society.
Application form
If you wish to apply for membership of this society, please click on the application form link at the bottom of the page, download the form and fill out all necessary items, then sign the form. Membership to this society requires a recommendation from an HASD member. If there is no HASD member around you, please directly contact to the HASD office.

If you wish to apply as a Student Member (undergraduate or graduate student), please state so in the specified column on the application form and attach a copy of your current student registration certificate or student identification card
Admission and annual membership fees
There are five different types of members of HASD and they may join it directly at any time in a year. The annual membership period runs from January to December each year. All subscriptions are payable strictly in advance and preferably in the month of January.

A person holding a University Bachelor’s Degree may become a Life member/Ordinary Member/Ordinary Student Member.

Any institution doing research on conservation activities for the upliftment of the mankind through scientific approaches or with similar aims and objectives of the Society may seek institutional membership of the HASD.

Any society or Regional Association related to the society may become an affiliated member of the HASD.

A Life Member/Ordinary Member/Student Member of the society may become a member of only two Research Committees of HASD at a time by paying requisite fees. They need to fill up the appropriate form either online or offline and pay requisite fees listed below.

Fees/subscription for different types of membership are as follows:

Life Member (Indian): Rs. 10,000
Life Member (Foreign): US$ 500 or equivalent in Indian Rupees

Member (Indian): Rs. 5000 (for Five years only)
Member (Foreign): US$ 250 (for Five years only)

Student Member (Indian): Rs. 2000 (for Five years only)
Student Member (Foreign): US$ 100 (for Five years only)

Annual Member (Indian): Rs. 1000 (for one year only)
Annual Member (Foreign): US$ 100 (for one year only)
Annual Student Member (Indian): Rs. 500 (for one year only)
Student Member (Foreign): US $ 50 (for one year only)

Institutional Member: Rs. 20,000 (one time)

Regional Association: Rs. 1000 (for one year only)
6. All types of membership are subject to approval by two-thirds of the members of the Managing Committee.​

All fees are to be paid along with bank transaction charge including service charge, if any, to the bank account stated below either through Internet banking or bank transactions;
